On Thursday, May 10th, José Páez spoke to newspaper El País about the legal consequences of FC Barcelona contacting Antoine Griezmann before the expiration of his contract with Atlético de Madrid. It transpired that FC Barcelona had been seeking legal advice to rule out any adverse legal consequences for contacting Antoine Griezmann. FC Barcelona’s concerns were that its conduct could give rise to federative sanctions since the player was under contract with his team at the time of the alleged contacts.
